We have had several people film TV commercials, documentaries, etc. on-site and interested in repeating the positive experiences these brought the yard.Functioning Steam Train Repair YardWe have a fully operational mainline steam-train repair yard complete with every piece of heavy-machinery you can imagine. We are constantly in the process of repairing and assembling steam locomotives of various ages.Station BuildingsThere is a short platform, a live 1920’s era Signal Box, a working turntable, etc. We even have a “top shed†where we hide some of our steam collection that is yet to be restored.Perfect for a Railway Children type discovery!Steam EnginesWe also have many fully operational engines, including GWR Castle Class 5043 “Earl of Mount Edgcumbeâ€, GWR Hall Class 4965 “Rood Ashton Hallâ€, GWR Pannier 9600 (in black), and an Ex-GWR Pannier L94 (7752) in crimson London transport livery. There are also a series of guest engines that “live†here including LMS 6201 “Princess Elizabethâ€.CoachesWe have available a selection of 1950’s era coaches. We have a Corridor First (FK), a First Open (FO) that used to be part of the Royal Train MANY years ago, 3 Pullman Dining coaches and several Standard Class (TSO).All our coaches are painted in GWR (Chocolate and Cream).Availability for FilmingWe are primarily in the business of running Steam-hauled day excursions on the mainline throughout the UK. This would allow filming to take place during the week-days without the interruption of moving trains.Further images are available on request.
