The Church is probably best known for being featured in the world's media when the then prime minister, Tony Blair, chose it to formally announce that Diana Princess of Wales had died in Paris.InteriorThe seating capacity is small - a maximum of 150 - however, this does make it more 'intimate' and a family friendly church. The font (picture attached) is of particular interest because - made of white American oak, it was made by our own 'Mouse man', Baz Hawkins, whose exacting skill is frequently admired locally and much sought-after.Some of the stained glass windows are unique and reflect both historical and more recent events.Whilst sitting behind its own surrounding wall - adding to its charm, the immediate church grounds could not be considered extensive, however, it is situated in the centre of a large village green considered 'church grounds'. (More than large enough to accommodate the World's press in Tony Blair's days).Surrounding LocationMary Magdalene is situated at the centre of a quiet village green, with ample parking, virtually no traffic noise, and is not situated under a flight path.Because of its beauty it is a popular venue for weddings, christenings and funerals.
